Tell me what kind of lens you are using.
Oh, another thing.
Do you know anything about micro vs. marco lenses?

for this shot I used Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro.
I think my setting was @ f/4 and about 4 inches from the flower.
A lens is macro basically means it can focus at a very close distance from the subject.
I own 2 other lenses. 28mm-105mm zoom and 75-300mm zoom. Both kinda slow.

"micro" is how nikon label their macro lenses. I have no idea why. Otherwise, i have never heard of such things as micro lenses.
Are you going to invest in one?

No, not me. I was at Ritz camera the other day with a friend of mine, and we were trying to figure out this micro/macro thing. The manager there explained to us that they were both completly different things and micro was used for something such as a antenna on a bug, and macro was used for something such as the details on the back of a coin. He explained that the ratios were different, maybe 1:2 and I do not remember the other. After this man explained this to my friend and I we were slightly confused being as this does not make sense. We both did further research to find that we could not find anything. The only thing I could tell was that only Nikon had these Micro lenses. Since you seem pretty knowledgable in lenses for whatever reason, I decided to ask you. But I guess I was right in thinking that this man at Ritz has no idea of what he is talking about.

I'm not sure if they are planning on buying one or not. I really don't know. And I don't know why I don't know. I don't buy from Ritz. I use to do film there, but now Costco works just as well for me. I usually order my camera equi. off line, or Valley Photo in Downtown Winchester. If I am in town, of course. The Magnification ration thing you explained makes a lot of sense. I'm pretty sure I get it. I just don't understand why Nikon calls them Micro. That doesn't make sense.
Thank you.

Micro and Macro can both be the correct term depending on which perspective you're looking at things. If you're think in terms of the subject, then you're being covered by film in almost an overwhelming sense. Thus... kind of macro. And then the word micro means really small, which those type of lens are capable of capturing.
Japanese nomenclature are less profound than what most think they would be, and sometimes purely unscientific.
costco always mess up my film, and ritz is just too pricy. I now go to wal-mart and order "CD only". It's less than $5 and if I really like a picture I can order digital prints for 19 cents each. It's funny how people there all knows me. Target supposedly built a new lab. I'm going to check it out maybe today.

Target does have a new lab... but I haven't had any film developed there, nor do I plan to.
I have never had a problem at Costco. Ever. They print all the pictures (even if it looks like they shouldn't), and it's cheap. Neither Target nor WalMart develop pictures with the white border printed on them. I like that border. Costco does.
That is a good idea, about the cd only thing...

I think wal-mart does boarder if they are digital. Ritz also do boarders. I agree that costco does print amazingly clear pictures. But I'm after the good scan resolution, and this girl at Wal-mart always help me with my special requests.

Every time I've ever had anything done at Wal-Mart there were always spots and developing residue left all of my negatives. Then there would be spots on my prints. And if I had a color enlarger, then I could probably do them better than anyone. Yes, I am flattering myself. I think I'm pretty good in the dark-room though. Wal-Mart just disappoints me. I have a friend in Vally Photo in Winchester that I get my enlargments and other camera equiptment from. It's always nice to have friends in places like that.

I think pretty soon I will go all-digital, and permanently say goodbye to having to develop any negatives. I get my enlargements done at costco only because they have the correct aspect ratio for large prints.

Don't do that...
don't go digital.
It's bad news.
Actually it's awesome, but I have a thing for film and I'm never going digital, except for crap pictures that I take with my Coolpix 7900.

How's your new camera working out? I have a tiny didgital that I use when I'm not confident enough with my film SLR. It's so small for my big hand that I actually mess up most of my pictures. But I've enjoyed working with a digital SLR.

It seems to be working out okay. I have not used it much because I simply do not have time to. But as far as I can tell, it is pretty cool.
