My mom used to sit my brother and I in front of the tree to take pictures for Christmas cards, so that's where the idea for this came from. Except I'm pretty sure my brother and have never tried to physically fight each other. Unless you could all the times he pinned me down and tickled me. Ah, the joys of family.
Cards on the table- I love my family. There's almost no one I don't get along with, and I always have fun spending time with them. I'm consistently baffled by how many of my friends can't stand being around family during the holidays. True, there's a point when "they're family" isn't enough to smooth everything over, but have so many people reached that point? I'm so bummed that I won't be able to see my family for Christmas.
I'm glad I got this done before Thursday, which is the first day of Hanukkah. Might do another holiday themed piece later, might not.
Also, I'm really happy with how Demetri and Kira have been coming into their own as characters. I started them out as basically mini-versions of their parents, but they've been branching into their own personalities lately. Demetri has become more reserved and analytical, and Kira has turned into a bit of a delinquent. At least she's the sort of "chaotic good" delinquent, like Robin Hood or Banksy. Except with more of a penchant for starting fires.
