Of course it was a dream. Riku hadn't seen the cave where he used to hang out with his friends in a long time. How long, though, he couldn't say. Time had lost all meaning to him lately.
He sat down on a large stone and the top half of the black Organization coat, unzipped down to his waist, pooled around his hips. He took a deep breath of he cool air. He figured that, as long as he was asleep, he'd might as well enjoy being back home.
"Riku?" Riku snapped his head up. A dream. That's right. There was no way this was real. His hands knotted into fists at his side as he resisted the urge to spring to his feet to meet the brunette. It's not like any of this was real. Sora smiled softly, sadly. "It's you, Riku...I'm so happy." He walked over to his old friend, crouched in front of him, and put a hand on his clenched fist. "I've missed you so much." Riku closed his eyes tightly, but, no matter how hard he tried to stop them, tears started pouring down his face. Sora put a soft hand on his cheek and wiped away the wetness.
"Sora..." Riku whispered. He put a hand over Sora's and squeezed it tightly. "I've missed you, too... I'm so sorry...for everything I did..."
Sora gently held Riku's hand in his. "It's okay, Riku. I forgive you."
"I've made so many mistakes and hurt you and everyone so much." Riku shook his head helplessly. "How can you forgive me so easily?"
Sora stood and hugged Riku's head, stroking his silvery hair. "Because I'm yours," he said simply.
Riku wiped his tears away and pulled the shorter boy into his lap. "That's right," he murmured, touching their foreheads together. "You're mine. And I will always be yours."

I coloured this mostly because I promised DestinyDreams24 that I'd colour some Soriku lineart for her once I was done my Akuroku picture. More lineart whoring. Yay me! But, hey, I actually made an effort to put a background in this one! I'm so proud of myself. Normally, when it comes to backgrounds, I just give up and leave it mostly or completely blank. I'm also proud to admit that I completely whored GIMP's clothify filter again. I love you so much, GIMP.
I'm not afraid to admit that, by the end of the ficlet (which is the longest I've ever written to go with a picture ) I was close to tearing up. I've been so damned overemotional lately. I blame Kingdom Hearts. Oh, by the way, I based the colours in Sora's outfit after his KH2 outfit 'cause I figured that's what it looked like. I would also totally make that outfit if I actually trusted my sewing skills.

What made me happiest while colouring this picture? SHINY THINGS!!! *twitches* Dammit Sora!
