charmedy In reply to Aikonni [2014-03-12 17:35:59 +0000 UTC]

I think it might be these they are under grunge on CGtextures. Not sure which particular one I used might of combined a few I hope this helps.
www.cgtextures.com/texview.php… . I find that alot of grunge paint textures make really nice textures for planets.

I usually combine textures from cgtextures.com  they have really nice resources. I can't remember which one per say but it was some type of cracked paint.

" All done in photoshop about 4 hours."
Destroyed in the blink of an eye with this annoying watermark ...
Aren't you confident enough to show your artwork without this distracting and altering action?

The reason for the watermark is simple, people have been stealing my works and making profit from my hard work, so sorry for the watermark.  I'm confident in my skills, but also confident that people will steal.

I also have these works on Shadowness without the watermark if you wish to view them, they are sized down to avoid theft.

Nice work, I can see why they would want to steel them.  It's a shame that other people feel compelled to take something that they have no rights to. I've had people ask me for permission to use my work in the process of recreating it in another medium; it's always appreciated, and I typically won't charge unless it's for a large commercial project.  In your case, with your talent, it really irritates me that anyone would remotely consider steeling.  Watermark or not, you have an obvious talent and I wish you the best.

Thank you for the nice response.  If it's on the internet people feel that they can just take it.  I place the watermark because I did find some of my works stolen on other sites and since these projects take me a while to complete if someone downloads my work it validates that they actually like it enough to purchase the high resolution file.  I'm still learning and there are many artists on DA that I admire and aspire to be more like them.   Again, thank you for your positive feedback and I'm very pleased that you enjoy my work.

If you don't want you work to be "stolen", don't post it on the internet. If your work is "stolen", you have ways to sue them.
Once a work is in the net, people can grab it in one or the other way, you can't avoid it. You should take this fact as it is or don't participate. It's that simple.
No offence, this is nothing personal, but it makes me sad, how great artists are happily willing to self-truncate their work just for a few assholes ... You should just stand over it ...
Just my point of view.

I appreciate your point of view but I choose to protect my work.  I don't consider myself a great artist but if were lumping me in that catagory I'll take the compliment. I'm glad that you like my work and took the time to outline the do's and don't of online pirating.
