Scout trooper Commanders were specialized stormtroopers who led scout troopers in combat. Equipped with scout trooper armor and electro riot batons, they were put to use against close-range targets such as Jedi.
Chosen from the best Scout Troopers for officer training by veteran clone officers such as Bacara, Neyo and Cody, the Scout Trooper Commanders are also fellow surviving clones who had remain in active service long after the end of the Clone Wars.
The 501st Legion, being one of the few pure Jango clones left in active service, have several such Scout trooper Commanders in their ranks as does the clones of Shinji Ikari's Crimson Phoenix Empire.
Scout trooper Commanders were usually more skilled than their subordinates.
