Description

Since the plot for Ka-Bat's first (and possibly only) arc is basically completely written and decided on, there's one thing I have to admit I've not been the happiest about. Clinoa, Updog's 5th team member, doesn't get nearly as much development as planned for a few reasons. Her design and inclusion initially went through heckle and back. She's by far had the most drastic changes made to her, even the way I draw her is far different from the other characters. Sadly, when the change to "lets appeal to furries" happened, she got further shoved back.

Despite my desire to include them more, my confidence in peoples interest in the sci-fi aspect of the comic began to die the more and more Com and Updog gained popularity. Just at a glance one would know Anthros are more popular than aliens in the eyes of my following. This rings true for Tikano as well, and the two also don't have the whole "Power level" debate as Com, Updog, and Maul do. They were designed with more creative power usage in mind, from a time before Ka-Bat was a shonen parody. They lose the spotlight in a furry shonen comic.

And as I've expressed before, Ka-Bat will only be 10 volumes, and the team members (with the exception of Com and Updog) only get 1 arc dedicated to their characters and villains. Clinoa has a lot of character arcs I'd like to get into, but I can't fit it into 10 short volumes. I've mentioned in the past that there is a possibility of a renewal for a second Saga for Ka-Bat, but I'm reluctant to consider the option unless the first does AMAZING. I want to keep Ka-Bat short and sweet, and past the initial plot developments I fear it may get bland.
