Well, I do have free time, but I never use it to finish my unfinished drawings that I didn't work on for too long...

You have captured her - at first glance the lights seem spot on and the texcture shade in her hair is great - I really cant wait to see this finished with a backdrop !

It's not too light, no way. Galadriel=Lady of Light. So. Let there be light.
Beautiful <3.

Right, make it your own. No one but you will be able to tell the difference, and it will still be freakin' amazing!

I've seen so many here try to draw Cate Blanchett's smile without anywhere near the spectacular results that you have produced.

Hmm, I guess you're right.. Some how I always want to get every value as close to the original as possible, but maybe I should abandon that thought..

Well, if you ask me, I would say to do so. Cose you already have the amazing talent to draw perfectly whatever you see, so why not filter it through your imagination.
You are doing amazing things already, think what you could do if you started to draw from your mind.

Thank you, but I think I still have a lot to learn. Since it turned out way too light, that means that I CAN'T draw perfectly whatever I see.
I'm glad you think I could draw from imagination. I really want to do that someday, to just sit down and make up my own worlds and stuff and make them seem real.

You're welcome! It was my pleasure!
Ok, you are right, I agree, but...being able to draw that accurate as you is something, all right!
Some artists would shoot me if they see what I say(maybe even you), but maybe drawing that perfectly isn't really necessary sometimes. If a shade or lightning isn't that correctly applied but the whole picture is breathtaking, maybe it's not that bad. Maybe! Maybe I only say so, because I could never do a perfect perfect drawing and there for I believe that the athmosphere the drawing gives you matters. But I guess that a perfectly applied shade can create a certain athmosphere.
I don't know, I just think that you should really try doing it!

The more I think about, the more I actually regret the fact that when I saw this scan back in december or january I actually put another layer on top of the face, because you were totally right that I should leave the face light because she IS the lady of light. It just looks better.

No, you're right, I think in most cases changing the contrast or just some values really helps. But I just want TO BE ABLE to see and draw the shades correctly, you know, so that if I really want to have the same shade I CAN.
