So she has sensitive hearing? Me too, can't stand noises above a set decibel level (need to find out what).

I do hate this noise myself XD
(maybe if I listened way too loud to crappy music like everybody else my hearing would have been numbed down enough to make it bearable but well c'est la vie)

Try listening to grinders and related shop noises 5 hours a day, then your irritation with the vacuum will go away. ^_^

I do still hate it after using the buzzsaw for a while. I do wear ear protection, though. Hate these noises.

Earplugs for the win! I do wish they were more comfortable for long-term use though. You seem to hate quite a few noises, don't you?

With that thing, even a chainsaw feels silent.
Though these are not suitable for sleeping with. XD I live in a quiet town, and I don't need earplugs per say. But back when I was studying in Belgium in a big city the noise was driving me nuts, and I could only sleep with earplugs in.
