0.o I just wandered away from my project for a moment to look something up and this caught my eye... jebus you did a good job.
Setting aside the fact that the character looks splendid and well... totally awesome - Your anatomy looks so great on this, the pose is wonderfully done, seriously impressive work! It seems like you are really improving quickly.
now back to sleep deprived drawing I shal probably wake up in the morning look at it and go "Was that little scribble over there supposed to be a person or a smashed up guitar fighting a sack of potatoes with a mop? What was I thinking."

Well it is morning... and I just had that moment lol. Surprisingly I did not make many mistakes last night, yay for not having to make another tape monster! As for the realism/stylized thing I think that as long as you swap between a few styles you will continue to improve. Also, you may be surprised - the more you study something the more mistakes you seem to notice... or not so much mistakes but you become more perceptive to what you are drawing. I have noticed quite a bit that rather than getting quicker with my figure drawing I am still going at the same slow speed but I am taking time to draw things I did not really see before. I am a bit frightened, next term I have Figure painting + Anatomy + Intermediate figure drawing... I better be able to draw a nekkid person by the end of next term or I am going to cry. Should be like 20 studio hours a week with a model x_x.

LOL, art hangovers XD hehe. I tend to jump around with my art. I don't have a set way of doing things, i kind of just draw however at the time lol. if someone watches me draw on a regular basis, i do things different almost every single time. Probably not a good thing, but it keeps things interesting for me, and makes it so that i don't have to worry about perfection too much. I'm one of those artists that if im not careful, i could potentially spend 4 hours perfecting one line lol It took me a really long time to break myself of that, to be able to loosen up enough to actually sketch XD I've actually never done consistent figure drawing. I can only imagine what my anatomy and drawing would be like if I actually had the drive to sit down and do it. In plain and simple terms, I'm a lazy artist lol

Ya I guess so, I am not saying I want to perfect every line, but I feel like I need to do it at least until I -know- that even if I didn't do it right, it is because I -was- being lazy and not because I cannot draw it 100% accurate if I need to. Also... lately the problem with perspective is that I have to use objects to measure other objects in the picture. So if I make a mistake in one place... then suddenly an hour later I get stuck and cant figure out why part of my picture looks horribly off. It is at that point that I realize the last hour of drawing was just me copying a mistake all over the picture plane so now I have to redraw everything! *facepalms* that happened to me a lot when I was drawing [link] (I still have not finished it - that is why it is hiding, I think I want to do a serious digital paint with it if/when I have time.) Like the ceiling in that omg I have to redraw it because I made so many mistakes my paper was hurting so badly & couldn't make an even line on it anymore XD

lol, as im reading this, I'm so tired that the words I'm reading kind of just... spill in one ear, and out the other @_@ I had to read it three times to make sure that i got all the info LOL. And you need to finish that pic. Its going to be epic, I can tell.

well, i'm just going to be attending the community college for now. gonna take some Japanese classes, and some art classes hopefully.

*jealoueses* I really want to learn Japanese... well that and I want to finish learning German. I think I want to live in Japan or Germany when I get out of college (if i ever do lol, when I see how much more I have to learn in terms of drawing it feels like I am going to be here forever!) maybe I could go back to living in Germany and learn Japanese in German! lol.... okay maybe not.
