PICTURE EXPLANATION: I know I'll have some tards going "WAIT THERE'S ONLY ONE PIC OF A FETUS"
The other two show what that 'clump of cells' has grown into. Don't look like tapeworms to me.

Pregnancies have been really demonized lately.
Probably because it seems like every pregnancy I see is an accidental one.

I'm pro-choice. I'm personally against abortions, but I don't think anyone should be stopped from having that option. That's a quick background on my views before starting up on this.

"Fetus: The young of an animal in the womb or egg, especially in the later stages of development when the body structures are in the recognizable form of its kind, in humans after the end of the second month of gestation."
Nowhere is 'parasite' or 'sub-species' mentioned. Anywhere. A fetus is the YOUNG of an animal. The young of an animal is also known as a baby. Not a parasite. Not a leech or tapeworm.
A baby.

Even for embryo is something similar:
"Embryo: An animal in the early stages of development following cleavage of the zygote and ending at birth or hatching."

And obviously, "animal" would depend and refer to whatever animal is impregnated.

In the context of this stamp, a human.

So to re-word the definitions:
A human fetus is "the young of a [human] in the womb or egg in later stages of development..." and a human embryo is "[A human] in the early stages of development following cleavage of the zygote and ending at birth or hatching."

It just leaves me in disbelief when people say "LOL AN EMBRYO/FETUS ISN'T EVEN HUMAN"
So what. We were once tadpoles? Yeah we had gills, but we have been one species since conception.

And here's some arguments I'll give my two cents to:

"Actually, I can;
Think, eat, build, feel, react, develop, learn, communicate, reproduce, create, imagine, see, smell, taste, walk, socialize, believe and many others.
What can a fetus do?
Potentially grow up to be a normal human OR;
[Potentially] destroy a woman's life that just got raped, harm a human, kill a human, destroy a family, destroy a girl's teenage/childhood and many others." - [link]

As far as rape goes, I think there's an exception for that. I've always believed in that. But whether it was a rape or not, it still doesn't deem it a 'parasite'.
"Kill a human" - I've heard of stories where mothers have given up their lives to give life to their child[ren]. It's extremely unfortunate, but the baby still has a long life ahead of them. I give my kudos to any mother who was willing to give her life to give birth to a baby, because I'm honestly (and admittedly) way too scared to make such a choice.
"Destroy a family" - That's why you plan a pregnancy and don't make stupid choices. That's a bit of your own fault.
"Destroy a girl's teenage/childhood" - You shouldn't be sleeping around as a teen, or a child no less. God damn.

I know I'm gonna get such a shitstorm. And call me a prude for not believing in teen sex, but I won't be the one saving up for an unplanned abortion. I have things like college to pay for.

SO IN CONCLUSION, human fetuses/embryos are human. And even if you may disagree and say it isn't a living creature just yet, I still think "parasite" is too strong a word to use. Yes, they live within an organism (the mother) as parasites do, they use nutrients the mother takes in, but so do breastfeeding babies.
Those damned selfish parasites. Eating necessary nutrients to grow strong and healthy and to become fully-functional human beings one day.
Damn them all.

I don't even understand the logic in the 'it isn't living' argument. Doesn't it technically have to be ALIVE in order to develop in the first place?
