Backdoor: A method of gaining access to a computer or network, using a piece of code that secretly bypasses the usual encryption. Object code backdoors are harder to detect, since the original source code is not changed and the backdoor code is inserted during or after compilation. Backdoors could be used to steal information and delete data.
