Introducing Tanner, a 16.1 hh Dunskin Hanoverian x Fjord.
He's my baby boy, and has been for five years. I've never drawn him, because I wanted his picture to be perfect.
This is the first, and maybe last, picture you'll see of him.

When I started riding him five years ago, he was a complete mess. Wouldn't do a thing the rider said, and most of my lessons ended in me crying from frustration.
During our first show together, every class we were in we went off course.
But after about a year, we clicked. Everyone who watched us loved it, we worked as a team. We "look so in-sync and together".
I was the only one he would work with, everyone else who got on him ended up begging to get off.
At our last show we got 3 firsts and Champion.
I lost my confidence, he helped me through it, taking the wrong distances, throwing his neck up so I wouldn't fly over it.
He lost his confidence when a rider crashed him through a jump. I helped him through it, showing him he could trust me, I wasn't going to hurt him.
I've always loved Tanner with all my heart, but the barn where he lives-not so much.
Recently I had been looking around for a new place. And found one. Wonderful people, great atmosphere, and the perfect horse for me to lease, in my price range.
But that meant leaving Tanner.
Recently I had been feeling like I was losing my connection with Tanner. Our courses weren't as perfect, we weren't the same remarkable team we used to be.
I posted about my dilemma on Equiverse. Someone there replied, saying:
"He is trying to tell you that its okay its time to move on."
And so I made my decision. I'm going for the lease.
Tomorrow is my last time riding Tanner.
I love my baby boy so much.

I wasn't sure what to do with the background. I wanted the focus to be on Tanner, but I'm not satisfied with this. :/
