backstory: his family had escaped from the virus dimension cause mydoom thinks they're useless, these viruses have the ability to slow down computer time and slow files down, but turned self aware and don't want to follow the lords orders, they went to a dimension which they never been to before, and decide to make a new home to live, his mother, clockwork, was single since her husband sacrificed himself to save her and young metric, and had a happy home to start over, metric did felt lonely as child but played with the other children, that day a massacre and war happened, the antivirus' had a mission since they received a virus home in skysaura, so they went to the location, and a war had begun, the time travels tried to escape but they were killed, metric was fearful since the others of his kind were shot and brutally killed, clockwork came up to him, telling him he's special, and didn't want her child to be killed, so she decided to give him her locket, and summoned a portal to a place they cannot reach, he had no choice but to go into the portal, and appear in the data-willows seeing that there's no way back home, he started to cry, as time went by, being 18 and getting used to things, one antivirus somehow found him and started to terminate them, while avoiding them, the blades scarred his one eye, and cut half his leg, being weak from blood loss he was stabbed and made sured He's dead, his physical body disappeared, but his soul was still intact, which his soul found a glowing tree, he touched the tree and then...his physical body was formed again, and he was immortal (only to ageing, eating/drinking) but had the half injuries, so he made an eye patch and prosthetic leg, he did interact with the animals in the forest, but had a lonely feeling inside him a long time since he never had a systemian friend, until he met lynx when she was a kid, and the rest of computer bytes, which he no longer felt lonely.
