This is the Swedish ship "Götheborg" an (almost) exact replica of the original East Asian trading ship who sank just outside Gothenburg in 1745. The wreck of her was found in 1984 and it was decided that a new ship would be built following the original design. The new "Götheborg" was launched in 2003 and has during the last years done the huge trip to China and back again, just like in the old ays. What a lovely shot of Götheborg! The ship was at the dock in Gothenburg last week and I got the chance to see her. She's such a beauty. I suggested that a friend and I hijacked the ship, him being Will Turner and I Jack Sparrow, when he said 'No, I'm Elizabeth Swann'. It kind of ruined it, haha.

When me and my family were last in San Francisco there was an old school type sailing ship a club had put together sailing around in the bay. It was a half-sized reproduction, but awesome nonetheless. It's a fun feeling to witness something from history right there in front of you, isn't it?
