This photo manipulation was created after inspiration had struck me for a new fanfiction (The Choice). I have yet to begin writing, and I think I will save the plot for Nanowrimo this year.

The story will be an AU 7th year Snape/Luna fic. For those expecting hot, steamy scenes or whatever - that's not my cup of tea. It will be a platonic and "friendship" relationship mostly.

When Luna is taken to the Malfoy Mansion in december, she sees some gruesome things and is not always spared at the hands of the Death Eaters. When Snape notices her suffering, he is reminded of the promise he made to Dumbledore: to protect all students. But can he protect her as well without risking his own position at The Dark Lord's side?

The story starts out dark as he takes in Luna in his quarters and makes the other Death Eaters believe he is attracted by her and will not ease her suffering. While the Death Eaters do not know what to make of this new and dark side of the Hogwarts headmaster, Luna finds herself in doubt about Snape's loyalties. He does not speak of his plan to her and still tries to terrorize her with words - but he never lays a finger on her. Luna realizes there may be more to him than he wants to make her believe.

When she finally finds out that his plan was to protect her, she will go to any lenght to protect him in return. Eventually it leads to a partnership in which they share one common goal: to kill Nagini when the time is right.

He made one choice - to protect her - and it will change everything.

"De Keuze" means "The Choice" - it's Dutch.
