B-E-A-UTIFUL RIFLE!!!! Personally i think it should be chambered a little higher then the weak 5.56. 7.62x39mm or a 7.62×51mm seems more suitable.

I agree but the recoil would probably be greatly increased.

Well yes, but not by extreme un-shootable amounts, We used the SLR from 1954ish to the 1990s and that took the 7.62x51 NATO.
Recoil maybe increased more but will have more stopping power and require less rounds to take down the target.

Men tend to go down pretty quickly from a single round...

Depends on the round, bullet placemen, impact damage and stopping power DOT DOT DOT

Location of the shot would be most important out of that list. The point is, a lot of people would quickly lose interest in fighting once they've been shot. Obviously there are exceptions, but your average joe isn't going to feel very happy after taking a round.

Is that a real L85? It looks like "Made in China" build quality...
Technically, I like the picture.

The real SA80 A1 was not built as well as the SA80 A2 airsoft version ha ha.

The SA80 A2 (the real one) is a vast improvement!

Yep H&K were brought in to sort out the problems with the L85A1, now we have an amazing L85A2

I wouldn't call it "amazing" ha ha but next to the A1 it is. Dislike the new plastic mags for the A2 though, could see the rounds better in the old ones.

lol. It's a great (and now reliable) weapon Yes, not keen on the plastic mags... but its lighter for troops so eaiser for them

I never found them to be that heavy compared to everything you gotta lug around with you. But it's true they do cut some of the weight, just gotta take mental note of how many founds you have fired off.

It's a sweet rifle though and no mistake. Looks epic with a good SUSAT sight as well.
