The first version of page 39 from SUPERMAN: INFINITE CITY.

Those familiar with the finished book will recognize the same basic composition, but in this original version, Carlos rendered Superman in more dimensional lighting in the final panel, to suggest the sudden bolt of reality that Superman feels when confronted with The Mayor's secret. IT was decided, however, to keep the character rendering consistent while in Infinite City, so he was re-colored in the animated cel-style of the other panels throughout the book. (The painted reaction shot of Superman's face was left as is, however.)
