Description The title is much more than a simple spanish word (flor oscura could be dark flower), it's more like the darkness within.

Changed contrast/saturation/brightness and unsharp, then added frame with The GIMP.

interesante propuesta geometrica y plastica, aunque puede que algo saturada en el color...

El contraste y saturaciΓ³n estan retocados, de ahΓ su "gracia" y perdiciΓ³n al mismo tiempo.

CONGRATS!! YOU WIN!
You're one of the 9 winners of my purple photography contest!
This flower is so weird! I love it. The focus is great, too, and of course the colour is perfect.

the color is really vibrant, and i love how the center is sharp and focused.
if you're not sure what kind of flower it is, :devflowerclub: might be helpful; i just joined, and it looks like they've got some great resources for identifying flowers!

since i'm partial to flower shots, and half the time am not sure of the botanical name, i thought it might be handy.

lovely capture!

umm purple flowers are hard to capture.. yet you did a good job. still It seems the flower is over-expused i guess to sunlight cause it doesn't look like flash or something... umm great angle, very refrashing, great detail and sharpness!

buen zoom en la toma... el poner encuadre en la mitad de la flor le da un mejor aspecto al enmarcar solo un area en lugar del total
buena toma (si hablas espaniol verdad ? )

I like the graphical look of the petals... Rather unusual look for a flower! And the intense colour is wonderful! I alos like how you enhanced this graphical feeling by the way you cropped the picture and only showing a part of the flower... It's really a nice pic!

The closest that I can come up with is a Zinnia but I haven't found any with curled petals like that. I have seen these before but so far haven't been able to get a precise identification. I will keep looking and let you know if I find it.
Does this flower go to seed? or does it have a rhizome?
Do you have an image with its leaf?
(if it seeds, can you send me some?)

CarlesReig In reply to Tlemetry [2005-09-16 13:28:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, thank u for comment &

But i think it's not a "zinnia", it doesn't have som many petals. Or at least no when i made the photo.

Right now is kinnda difficult to get some seeds or making another shot cause it's little far from me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tlemetry In reply to CarlesReig [2005-09-16 15:49:57 +0000 UTC]

there are single petal zinnias. The center of it really looks like one. I haven't given up yet.
When Im out shooting, if I see seed pods I take along little zippy bags and collect a few. I can't wait till next season when I can plant my hollyhock seeds!

I believe it to be in the daisy family Im not positive but could be gerbera Daisy (think that is spelled right) just the petals havent fully opened yet.

I have that same flower growing in my backyard! No idea what it is, and it's so strange, I entitled it Alien, but this one works really well too. The composition is great (mine is just head on, stupid me) and I love all the detail in the center!
