Okay, well the original idea was Attina with her hair not all up yet...but then for some forsaken reason I decided I liked the drawing better upside down....stop questioning my sanity. This insant.

Makes me happy. If I could just make one request -- please please please credit/link back to me when you share this drawing. I see it a lot on pinterest, which links back to me, which is awesome! And I've even found some people re-drawing it -- I don't necessarily mind that, as long as I'm credited. Please -- don't try to re-draw other people's art and claim it as your own. It just isn't very nice, overall. :\

amazing drawing! I like the fact that she's lying in the sand at an angle.
I've recently bought The Little Mermaid and was very interested in all the character development.
it would be awesome to see you build off of this and have all of the "mermaid sistahz" on the sand with her, you know? but you don't need to listen to me. I'm just in a Disney phase at the moment.

Yes, in the new one she is oldest, but according to the old comics and tv show Aquata was eldest. I think the old canon went with the thought that they were introduced in the "Daughters of Triton" song from oldest-youngest, ie Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Attina, Adella, Alanna, then Ariel as youngest.
BUT all that to say, you're right! I just like old canon better so far...we'll see what I think after the new movie comes out. I have high hopes!

I'm with you there! I really do wish Disney would be more consistant with its characters...I read that Aquata is the oldest too, so that's what she'll stay in my eyes, even if Attina was supposedly the studious one.

Actually, according to what I've heard about TLM3, they've decided that Attina IS officially the oldest (I always thought she was the oldest anyway - that's why she has that huge crown!). I may be wrong, because this is just heresay, but as I understand it, the 3rd movie states that their official birth order is Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, Andrina, and of course Ariel.
Anyway, to , I love this! This is one of the prettiest pictures of Attina I've ever seen! The sisters really don't get enough love. And the way you did her hair is fantastic. I wish I could render hair like that. Also, I think that leaving the picture upside-down adds some sort of dimension to it - I can't put my finger on it. Lastly, her expression is priceless. She looks appropriately frustrated with her hair, and, considering the insane styles that she and her sister are famous for, I'm not surprised.
In short, this is awesome and
