Painting in Acrylics of Nintendo's mascot SUPER MARIO!

I've been a fan of Mario Bros. as far back as I can remember.
I was always drawing Mario and the gang as a kid, spending hours copying the pictures of Mario and his foes out of the back of the game's instruction manual. Its a shame Nintendo don't include the illustrations of Mario's foes anymore, I really think it was copying those little cartoon drawings that started me on the road to be an artist.

Well this is my first ever painting of Mario.
It wasn't until I had finished the painting that I realised that I had got the colour of Mario's dungaree and shirt the wrong way round...don't know why but the red dungarees seemed right to me when I started painting.

Looking at clips of the Super Show cartoons that version of Mario also had red dungarees, so maybe it was the memory of that Mario that inspired my choice of colour? or maybe I just got it wrong, oh well
