The state of Utah has become one of my favorite places to hike and photograph. Within 100 miles, there is such a great variation of landscapes that a photographer could stay there for years (as Ansel Adams did). I highly recommend the trip, especially if you have a few weeks to explore (I had 2 for the three locations; definitely not enough).

The only regret I have is being too tired to wait for sunsets or get up early enough for sunrises.

I think if I were to ever do that, I’d take a few months. My wife wouldn’t be happy with that, but I think it’d be the only way I could get my body accustomed to waking up early enough to catch the magic hour.
