What first stands out in this photograph is the character's eyes. I also love the attention to detail with his costume and weapon. The armor looks somewhat worn to me, which helps tell of the character's experience in battle. Though this somewhat breaks rule of thirds, you are going for a portrait shot, which I can look past. I would however be curious to see what a wider shot of this character would look like. Perhaps, he could extend his weapon or pose in a combat position. Now, that is one sweet piece of cosplay--the costume itself, the expression and body language to carry it off, and also knowing how to match your character(s) to your body type and skills.
Just. Plain. WOW!
Hoping you're also one of the genetically lucky ones who can keep the build & facial shape for decades without starving yourself, and also maintain good muscle tone without having to bulk up,
--Nonie, who was small and already dumpy decades before Japanese-style cosplay hit the US; my only successful costume was as a (generic) female dwarf back in 1978 or so, wearing a robe of crimson velour, long open vest of cream fake-fur (which broadened my shoulders), odds & ends of jewelry in gold & green, and a short crepe-hair beard (yes, spirit gum was itchy; hope that's improved!) two shades darker than my long sand-blonde hair. Hot DAMN I love seeing how much better costuming has gotten since my day!
