Flickerblaze, after following Nightheart to Shadowclan, gradually begins to integrate into his new clan and flirts with Hollowspring, with whom he spends a lot of time since Nightheart spends a lot of it with Sunbeam. Their flirtation gradually becomes serious but Flickerblaze continues to be plagued by resentment towards Sparkpelt and the way Thunderclan has treated them. If Hollowspring likes his cynical, sarcasm and protective character towards those close to him, he is worried about Flicker's bitterness and tries to bring him to his senses.
