I've only heard this in passing that on the kink meme, there's been a lot of Kay-hate requests (haven't been on the kink meme for months... since there's been a lot of wank lately and I don't want to lose faith in this fandom). Yeah, I can remember there was wank a while back about people pairing up Phoenix with Maya or Iris instead of Miles or... something, a while back BD; it was rather sad, to be honest.

Ah, well, I know that they can get pretty heated about YOU'RE RUINING MY OTP--!! when it came to Maya/Phoenix and such. So Kay cutting in and potentially whooing away Miles with her Loli-charms maybe put them all on edge... pardon the pun. BD;

My theory is, if you want to support your OTP, you don't go around "breaking up" other pairings that involve your OTP. What you do is, you produce fan works of your OTP so good such that people can't help but SHIP YOUR OTP. >;DDD Being bitchy about it is only going to antagonist people against your pairing.
Plus, I see characters for what they are, not what pairing they belong to. Kay Faraday is a frickin' awesome character that's rounded with a well-defined and established personality. Hence, I LOVE HER.
