Submission idea for ijji's Costume Design Contest: [link]

Theme: Caged Bird/Angel

After finishing my biotech lab notebook, I roughly sketched several of my ideas on lined paper and decided to sketch this one out. I was going to sketch out my other ones, but I ended up going to bed shortly after.

Originally, the outfit was based on a sketch I did about 3 years ago - a "Swan Lake" themed lolita outfit. But I added the birdcage motif. I've always wanted to try sketching a skirted birdcage (as seen in h. NAOTO Frill's line). I am a sucker for birdcages among other ornate things =+w+=!!! I'll probably do the motif again whenever I CG again.

I've been in debate whether or not to remove the long, wavy hair on the female concept. My rough sketch only has the messy bun on the side and I almost like that better. What do you guys think? But I may not make it back home to fix it since I'm doing this while I'm in lab xP
