Adorable! X3 and a fun fact: guinea pigs and rabbits can have babies together.

I believe their is no real evidence of any successful hybrid he created with a rabbit/guinea pig. Many people keep rabbits and guinea pig together and they never mate(I did too and asked my vet and he confirmed under any normal circumstances it is impossible)
Look at the other experiments
Mouse/Rat-2 rodents
Donkey/Zebra-2 mammals in the Equine genus
Antelope/Cow-Similar to Donkey/Zebra they are even toed-ungulate species and fall into the bovine family.
But than consider Guinea pig and Rabbit. At the time of the reported experiments it would have been considered that both were members of the rodent family, which we now know to be not true. A Rabbit is indeed not a rodent. They belong to the Vertebrate/Lagomorpha. I believe my vet also told me a Rabbit is actually more closely related to a horse, upon researching this is seems to be true.
So I wouldn't worry about keeping rabbits with rodents if they are not the same sex. You won't be waking up to any unplanned guests in the morning lol.
By the way very cute cavy. What is he/she a dutch? I used to have a similar one called Nando.

Yeah, when Stalin was still in power in Russia he gave a money grant to a scientist named Ilya Ivanov. He was trying to create an ape-human hybrid, but earlier in his career he made other hybrids; donkey-zebras, antelope-cow, mouse-rat, and of coarse guinea pig-rabbit.
