Yay... it is finally done...... I am not happy with this piece at all. He looks so... girly. Gahhhh. Where did I go wrong? Was it the makeup? Kouryuu says its the small mouth and the eyes. But I didn't really change it from the sketch!!! *Twitches* Whatever. Deus can just look girly. X___x But that is even more disturbing... This character is meant to be more seme than Aether in my story, and he ends up looking more girly than Aether... Okay, maybe not that girly. But whatever! I'm pissy. >_>
*Huffs* Okay. I've ranted. Now I should calm down.
This piece was requested by one of my readers and is a character from my story Divinitas [link] He's the God of Ten, who creates deities from mortals for his own selfish reasons. In the story he is said to have white wings.. which is the truth. My explaination as to why he has gold wings here is that Deus dyed his wings gold because he's a vain bastard. >_> That, and I just hate white with a passion.
Artwork was sketch, then inked using pen and ink, scanned, and CGed in PhotoShop 7, Painter 6 and 8.
EDIT: Updated the Print version - new border.... was never happy with the old one. Hahahaa. XD

lol. coloring white makes my eyes hurt. XD I like your explanation. The designs are so pretty. I love the detail in the hair and folds. You always work in such detail. He does look godly. I agree with the lips making him girly... but if he's a deity, it shouldn't matter.

the inking looks so soft and crisp, what kind of pens do you use for inking?

I used a dip pen with a drawing nib and a bottle of black indian ink to ink this picture, because I wanted the very fine lines. The nib gives a thinner line that even the 005 pens (when I don't mess up X_x). But the reason the picture has supposedly soft looking lines is because I went over the outline with different colours in PhotoShop, and then once the picture was finished, I blurred and adjusted the transparancy a bit on a duplicate layer.

well, either way it looks damn nice...never had much patience for the dip pens/g-pens or whatever they're called. but they certainly makes kick ass lineart. we had to do it all the time at comic art school...

And still manly looking, in a way. oO You could just say that he HAS to be pretty because he's a god and angely, and all gods and angely people have to be pretty to some extent. >>; So it's not your fault he's pretty, it's not like you CREATED him or anything... ._.; Uh-huh, yeah, tell people he's real. XD I'm not even sure if that made sense, but....he turned out rather well, despite all your stressing. x___X The eyes, the hair and the clothes....I love them. ^^ Plus his accessories! XD I find the whole thing to be quite amusing, Kawo-sama. If Ari does not wish for Gryps to be taken away from him...I could simply arrange for them to be together. ^^
Then again...I do not wish to risk being a mess on the floor either. x___X I also do not wish to leave Gryps alone. He's so precious....I want him as a pet. Ari too!
