Description
Here we have a supposedly endangered caecilian, Boulengerula changamwensis. This is a burrowing species of caecilian found in Malawi. While the IUCN redlist does state this species is endangered, its population and population trends are both data deficient. This is most likely due to the lack of research and elusiveness in most caecilians, especially of the burrowing type. This places many species in the endangered and even in extinct categories.
