Long ago, before the ponies as they are now, there excited the ancient Draconequus. Unlike Discord they were not amalgamations of all sorts of creature. Though different from Discord they were still a very powerful race, possessing magic unrivaled by any other creature. Before they vanished they were viewed as living gods by the creatures of the world.
Among the most powerful of their kind were the twin princes of day and night.
As guardian of the day, Prince Prometheus was a stalwart figure. So focused on the mechanics of his duties he rarely found time to enjoy himself. He hardly ever socialized with his citizens and had few if any friends. Though he was dedicated to the prosperity of his kingdom, he was seen as a distant and unfeeling ruler.
Of his few pastimes he liked to read, participated in physical exercise, and observe the occasional sporting event. He was an excellent public speaker, though he had great difficulty with one on one conversations.
