I wanted to make a drawing from Kira's point of view when she first sees Jen walking through the forest! Fizgig is just waiting to leap from her arms and scare Jen! hehehehehehhehee! I figure there isn't enough Dark Crystal fan art out there, and Gelflings are hard to draw, so let me know if I pulled it off well! (those damned angular faces!!)I drew it out entirely in marker and then color with marker (copic) and shaded/highlighted some parts in colored pencil! 2 1/2 hours!

you did a fantastic job. I just watched this film the other day and am sooooo going to make pupets of my own one day for my own lil film thing (yeh.. in my drams maybe lol..) Brian fround?.. I take it he's the one who came up with the initial character designs then?.. I'll have to look up him and see if he has any other stuff he's done like this o.o great drawing on your part all around.

I don't know I just love to color with copics..I go a little overboard. I've always kind of tortured myself by drawing straight with pen so maybe that's it? XD

Ah! This is really great! Haha I'm always embarassed to say so, but I really love the Dark Crystal, and it's really just because I adore looking at those gelflings! hahaha

I adored Kira so much I wanted to marry her (And still do, but she has Jen, especially when I have my fan fiction I'll be loving and cherishing because a human character based off myself will be meeting the two gelflings XD). This piece is so good, Brian and Wendy Froud would love it dearly, you should show this to them!

Gelfing art ZOMG!! There is definitely not enough out there. As for how it went, overall I'd say freaking awesome. Your color is fabulous. The only thing I'd point to is that the third finger on her left hand looks a little funky. I realise we can bend our little fingers similar to that, but it just looks a bit off. I think her left cheek could have been a little slimmer as well, as it does make her look a tad swollen in the face. Yay for Gelflings! Gonna try a Mystic?

Wow you definitely pointed out the parts I didn't like either! LOL Not bad from memory though, right? No excuse for the wanky fingers, though! Hard to get it right with just marker - I can't mess up once!!
I've actually thought of working on a Mystic pic..I want to have Jen with the shard and some of the Mystics behind him, humming in unison - making the crystal glow!

i was just about to say that it looked like a brian froud pic, and ive never seen the labrynth or dark crystal so i ddint recognise the character. great job, i love it :d brian froud is so talented, youve rendered his style perfectly

I wouldn't say I rendered his style all that much...actually I don't think it looks like his style..but I like it that way..I like to have my own techniques taken from many sources and how I learned to color to make it sort of my own - drew her how I always picture her since I was a little girl! But I'm flattered definitely!!!
