Description A scene I have thought of while playing Dishonored.
After Corvo gets out of Coldridge he must have looked emaciated and bruised.
This scene shows him shortly afterwards in the void, the world of the Outsider where the water is flowing upwards.

This is one of the rare pieces where I had as good as no reference, so it was pretty hard for me to draw. I am still not sure if I am fully satisfied with the outcome cause I am pretty sure a lot of the anatomy isn't right.

drawn in Photoshop, took like 4 hours

I don't think he looks very much emaciated or bruished. As a matter of fact, I find him somewhat sexy, with his body and long hair  . It recalls me a drawing that I made several years ago, a version of the scene in Frankenstein in which the Monster sees for the first time his reflection on the water, and he was very much like this guy. Anyway, I love this piece .

haha at least I tried, its really hard to make someone look skinny if you want to bring contrast in the painting and make it look three-dimensional.
maybe it's because of the long dark hair! I would love to see the drawing you talked about
thanks a lot!

Yes, you are right. Anatomy is pretty difficult, specially the opposite sex (I mean, it's more difficult for men drawing woman and for woman, drawing men). Each time I try to do something about anatomy, I take great pains  . And I never like the results.

First, I must find the old drawing, which is somewhat lost, and then, scan and load it. Although I think it was not very good, I'd rather make another new. As a matter of fact, it seems to be a subject which haunts me since a very long time, because after that one, I made two other versions of it (the most recent, this very summer). And these, I have loaded here in DA. You can see them here and here . WARNING: the last one is not for general audiences.

Actually I feel more secure drawing men. Due to the fact they often have more visible muscles and I need to have some "landmarks" in my painting if you know what I mean. Flat and perfect skin as many females have it makes it really hard for me to make the model look plastic.
Besides that I just love to draw crinkles haha

I prefer to draw men, too, although I find much more difficult. You see, I think you are right when you say the reasons because you like more to draw men instead of women. I find male bodies to be aesthetically more complex and interesting, female bodies tend to be more uniform. It's more challenging too. Although I am never satisfied with the ressults . All of them tend to look somewhat like women in disguise, in spite the fact of my usual taking of classical sculptures or paintings as model, specially if the subject of the drawing has some importance for me.

Anyway, thanks for your answer .

Eh.
Eeeeeeh.
