Description The Monkey King, The Great Sage Equal to Heaven, The Victorious Fighting Buddha, Son Goku, Sun Wukong! One of the main protagonists of the Chinese Epic "The Journey to the West"

Sun Wukong made a name for himself managing to become 6x immortal and piss off all the gods of all 3 of China's major religions before finally being stopped when he had a mountain dropped on his head by the Buddha himself. 100 years later he is released to protect a monk Tang Sanzang also known as Tripitaka so he can collect the collection of Scrolls written by the Buddha in the west and deliver it back to the people in the east. The story is an allegory for a person's journey towards enlightenment with Sun Wukong representing the Human Mind; he's stubborn, incredibly impulsive, but also loyal and cares about his friends inspiring the archetype of all Shonen Anime Heroes such as Goku, Naruto, and Luffy with many of their powers directly referencing back to Sun Wukong.

The Art of the Earthly Multitude allowing him to transform into 72 different things however no matter what form he takes he has to keep one body part untransformed (His Tail), resistance to Fire, the ability to breath under water (although he sucks at fighting in the water), he's able to immobilize enemies almost instantly, has awesome glowing red eyes that can see through illusions, is able to turn his hair into clones thousands of himself, can control the wind and fly around on a cloud, can create an impassable barrier by drawing a circle on the ground with his staff and speaking of which wields a giant solid iron pillar as a staff which he's able to change the size and shape of to use as a multipurpose tool, and he picked this as his weapon after dismissing every other overpowered weapon the Eastern Dragon King offered him because they weren't heavy enough so add insane super strength to the list as well. When he hits people with this staff the book describes the impact to flatten bodies into a meat patty.

Since his journey is over he takes on the role of the old hero mentoring the new generation for the Myth's Gang being the personal hero and inspiration to Feng Zhang the grandchild of Sun's friend Meng Zhang the Eastern Dragon King.

Did you get the short version or the long version? I bought the short one (I think it's just called "Monkey") but soon after that I found a download link for the full version and so I have been reading that for a while XD There are so many messed up things about it, haha! But you gotta love Sun Wukong!

I think it's the short version or at the very least it says Vol.1 on the top of it so maybe it's just the first part of the long version? I guess I am going to find out.

The long one has several thousand pages I think, so needless to say I'm not finished with it XD Let me know what you think! There are loads of poems in the long version too.

What business does THE BUDDHA, directly translating to “old man,” have dropping mountains on overpowered monkeys?

I thought Buddha translates to "The Enlightened one"
The Jade Emperor king of Heaven called him in as a last resort because Sun Wukong was tearing through every heavenly warrior and god they threw at him
