Legends claimed Shadow Fury's reputation as the greatest Dragon Berserker of Obsidian Dragons to be attributed to the pact between Egil the Dragonkin and The Dragon Lord of Crystaltail Dragons — the same pact which gave rise to the coven they established together. But like tales of Sifla the 1st and Fairy King of Doras Hill, many details pertaining them were actually rumors whispered down the centuries. Written and rewritten, told and retold. Sometimes by the rich and powerful among older, conservative magical families either so they can hold on to power, out of denial over the truth where beginnings of Shadow Fury and Obsidian Dragons being more humble than they imagined, or both."

Just as Kara was the first Valkyrie Armor I designed Shadow Fury was the first Draconic Armor I designed. My initial take on Shadow Fury was based on Dragon Armor from MMORPG Spiral Knights appearance-wise, though I also took notes from Dragonplate Armor and Dragonscale Armor from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It took me a while in finalizing this Draconic Armor set where it must have a distinct appearance, especially after I established Havi as sort of Odin reincarnated.

During the development, this Draconic Armor's working name was Azure Phantom.

Fun Facts:
1. The appearance of Shadow Fury in its activated state reflects the wearer's true character. When worn by Havi, this Draconic Armor's right eye is blind and sports scale mail, fur coat, and waistcloth whose front piece bears Othala (ᛟ) rune — hints of the young wizard's nature as Odin reincarnated.
2. As the first of its kind, Shadow Fury serves as the basis of Draconic Armors after it.
3. The Shadow Fury before Havi was Lachland Cavendish, his godfather and Diana's father. Intrigued by the young Hrafnkel's talent with spear, Lachland taught him some of his techniques, and what it means to be a Dragon Berserker of Obsidian Dragons and proper protector but unable to take him in as his protégé because he was too young to join his coven. Despite his hope to become Lachland's apprentice for real was dashed following the latter's sacrifice in stopping a demon rampage at Hoddmimi's Holt, Havi nonetheless succeeded him as the next Shadow Fury after finally old enough to be inducted into the coven and subsequently overcome the trial to prove his worth.
4. The gem on Shadow Fury's forehead can be used to record the wearer's message either in form of words of encouragement for their successor, warning about the cause of their demise, or both. It was through this feature Lachland informed Obsidian Dragons that he slated Havi to be his heir and entrusted the young Hrafnkels to look after Diana.
