If you look closely at his chest, you can see his chest joint. He is made of multiple parts strung together by elastic. I often photography my dolls in ways to make them look like real people.

I think his open mouth and teeth really make the photo shine and give it its certain something
It looks really...determined? that way, and less like a candy "lookie, his chest is open, tehee" picture that way. More rough, more emotional.

Well, who wouldn't love that?
And I think he's rather...special? Like, I'm sure he's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but not everyone needs to be pretty anyway. I think it suits him rather well (and I'm usually not fond of open mouths at all).
