Description Four leaves opened close together and vowed in the secret of their hearts and to each other they would never be parted.  All through spring they grew closer keeping all others out of the secret, nearly holding hands with their fervor.  All through high summer the bond grew until the four were more as one than they could have ever imagined.  In fall they felt the first blow as one of their order lost his grip on first one bond mate then the other, and slipped ever so gently from the branch to flutter helplessly to the ground.  The three left, mourned their fallen brother.  Got angry at him for letting go.  Cried long, slept little and in the morning another was taken.  Not to float gently besides the fallen brother but to be caught by the breeze and carried off to the unknown.  The two left clung to each other.  "No, we will not go!  We will not be separated!  Never!  If we die, we die together!"  And they clung shivering in fear that one or the other would loose their grip and slip down to be lost forever.  In the end it was all for naught.  For in the gloom of the cloudy days plaguing them, a larger leaf fell upon the bond mates and sent them both tumbling down in separate paths.  There they lay.  Broken and unable to move further than where the wind deigned to take them.  All alone again.  One thinks..'This need not be the end truly, must it?'
