There's a book called "Steal Like an Artist" that basically talks about how it's okay to reference other artists and their styles and learn from that. There's actually a quote that I thought coincides with what you put in your description pretty well. "If you have one person who you're influenced by, everyone will say you're the next whoever, but if you rip off a bunch of people everyone will say you're so original!" - Gary Panter.
When you first start out as an artist, the number of people you are seriously influenced by isn't that large or only the main ones will translate into your own work, but as you grow as an artist and you find more inspiration and/or people that influence your own artwork you also start to slowly develop your own art style because of these things. Building your own art style takes AGES, and when I see that someone's own style is built upon all of the people that they see as an inspiration I think it's beautiful, not cheating. The way I see it is that everyone's art style is like a really awesome collage that took years to build and represents every artist that that person ever looked up to. It's a mixture of hundreds of other art styles but the end result is something that is unique and beautiful.

I agree with you on this. When I started out, I too, tried to copy the Artists that I admired. So I experimented and gradually developed a style of my own. It may be similar to other people, but really, I'm just trying to be me.
As for your Artwork, this looks fantastic! The color contrast of warm and cool colors made it really stand out!

Most welcome! I think so too. That's why for my part, i pay special attention to descriptions, for that is where an Artist pours his meaning for that piece of art. Keep inspiring!
