Number 1, Bulbasaur! Even though Bulbasaur is strong against Water Types, it isn't a very strong swimmer. So it got the help of a nearby Lotad who was willing to float it across the lake! Despite being the first one I started drawing for this project, it took a long time to finish...For some reason I thought it would be a great idea to plop it into a situation and environment that I have absolutely zero experience drawing...(Ex. Water, grass, rocks, nature in general). I've been studying rock tutorials and feel like I'm getting nothing out of them. I decided to ditch the whole forest scenery because I'm just simply not good enough to do that yet. So instead I'm practicing with water! I've figured out the best way to get better without stressing myself out and thinking I'm horrible and useless as an artist is to instead take just one thing (like water) and just work with that until I get it. Then I can move on to something else. So now this Bulbasaur and its Lotad friend are out in the middle of a lake or pond rather than a small body of water in a forest like I originally had it. Maybe some day when I get better I'll re-do this picture the way I originally wanted to do it.
