Here we have Frankie Foster from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.

This show was one of the mains reasons I became fascinated with Craig McCracken’s work in the animation industry. For a while I used to love watching the show, particularly the ones that focus on Frankie, more specifically the Destination Imagination film.

Frankie was (and is still) my favourite character and In my opinion, Frankie is one of the more interesting characters on the show, and quite frankly one of my top favourite female cartoon characters. Frankie is kind, considerate, cool, cute and underrated. She is also strong willed, smart and knows how to deal with jerks.

In my Opinion, It was bad enough that her job involves taking care of everyone and everything in the house (Her FAMILY’S house no less), Frankie had put up with aggravating and unbearable characters Like Bloo, Mr Herriman, and cheese. I think It kind of sucks that in the episode“Imposter’s home for um…make’em up pals” that Frankie was constantly tormented by Goofball McGee and didn’t get to go to that concert she wanted to go to and had to scrub the whole house (By the way I saw the Cinderella reference of that scene, looked clever but sad) Even though goofball did turned out to be a real imaginary friend at the end, I despised the guy.

However Frankie did had a good few episodes. Like the one were she defeated Mr Herriman in the election for house president by 1332 votes (Talk about overkill).

To me, Frankie is like part of a breed of female characters who tend to suffer more or less often in shows but knows how to recover and fight back against the odds and are popular with the fans. Characters like Kitty Katswell and Candace Flynn. And that’s what I like about her.
