I laid in bed restlessly, staring at the ceiling. My hooves began to shake nervously as my ceiling fan above me spun round and round. I was mostly sleepless due to anger and frustration. It was as if my authority was being overlooked, glanced over. Spitfire and Soarin, while extremely agitated, were passive about it around Gilda. They loved the Bolts and loved what the publicity of a celebrity student would bring to us. Definitely more money. We have been able to expand a great amount within the last few months. But something about it seemed almost...dishonest.

I sighed and massaged my temples with my hooves. Nopony listened to me it seemed. This isn't what we are about! Celebrity hand outs and publicity. We were an elite group of performers for royalty. But it seems that it's turning more into this...exploitable band of flyers.

As sleep grew evermore difficult, I gave into my wakefulness and hopped out of bed. Gently opening my door, I trotted down the dark hallway. There were a few nightlights lighting the way, but it was difficult to see. As I made my way down into the main "relaxation room" I looked at our bulletin board. It was hard to see at first, but I squinted my eyes in the dark. Was it...missing??

I put my hoof to where it was and felt paper instead. A large, plastic like paper. "Huh..?" I had no idea what it could be until somepony placed a candle stick under it, illuminating what the poster was.

On it was a bird, eagle like looking symbol. Slapped on it were large words saying 'ONE NIGHT' I was utterly confused. I turned to see who had the candlestick and it was Cloudy.

"Do you have any idea who's responsible for this??" I asked her in a hushed tone.

She shook her head, shrugging. "If I knew, I'd tell ya. But I don't have any idea." she said, looking at me. Her tired eyes looked almost as tired as mine did.

"Well I'm gonna find out!" I made no attempt to keep my voice down. "Where are our work out schedules? Our nutrition schedules?" my anger began to rise. "Where is our Wonderbolts oath?!" I breathed heavily, trying to calm myself down to no avail.

Cloudy looked at me. I could tell there was anger behind those tired eyes, but it seemed listless. Numb almost. "Ask Gilda." she said simply.

I turned to her, my jaw gaping open. "I figured she'd be up to this. What is she trying to tell me with this poster? What does it even mean??" I squinted closer at the poster but it seemed so vague. Just 'ONE NIGHT'. Obviously it was an advertisement. No date, no nothing. This was obviously meant for something certain ponies would know about.

"Did you talk to Soarin and Spitfire?" she asked, tilting her head.

I nodded slowly. "Well, yeah. But it's useless if they don't want to act on it." I let out a heavy groan and fell backwards on the wall, sliding down it and resting my head against it. "They are just too afraid. Gilda's got her name legally bound to the Bolts. She could kick us out so fast."

Cloudy looked at me, her dull eyes showing a small spark, and her mouth hung open slightly. "Even ponies who have been in the Bolts for YEARS like Soarin and Spitfire could be kicked out? Just like that?" she whispered.

I looked up at her. "Y-yeah. Isn't that awful? We've got to do something about it.."

I stood up, looking at Cloudy, who looked right back. "This isn't us! If Gilda is giving us some obscure message with this poster we are all supposed to discover when we wake up is not right. This isn't Equestria's top model. We deserve to know where and for whom we are preforming for!" my rant seemed to ring on the wrong pony's ears.

Cloudy looked at me, curving her mouth downward. "Yer talking to the wrong pony, hun." she said simply. "You, Soarin, Spitfire, and Gilda need to have a meeting about this."

I laughed. "Yeah, that would never happen. Soarin and Spitfire will nod it off. They like the publicity we are getting for it. They wouldn't mind preforming at some snobby singer's concert if it meant more bits."

Cloudy opened her mouth to speak, then paused momentarily. She remained silent before looking back at the poster. "RedRobin?" she said out loud.

My ears perked up immediately as I scrambled over to the poster, examining it thoroughly. "What?? Where?? Where'd you see that??" I asked her in a frantic voice, my eyes scanning every inch.

She chuckled at me, much to my disdain, and lifted a corner of the poster up. It seemed to have a small note written on it.

"You bolts are cordially invited to preform at my next concert. Thanks to my brother, you are opening yourselves up to royalty that isn't thousands of years old.

-RedRobin"

I was fuming. Did he try to insult us? The princess?! Did he think he was being funny right now? "Damn fool hasn't changed a bit." I growled under my breath.

"I am NO pony's back up dancer!" I hissed under my breath, turning to Cloudy who seemed to only look at me with confusion.

"Dash, as much as I hate to see the Bolts sold out like that, this will be good for us, er..." she seemed like she had to correct herself. As if saying 'us' was a mistake. "For you guys. You guys." she said, frantically nodding.

My ears lowered slightly. "Uh..okay?"

Cloudy smirked slightly. "Well, you've preformed at concerts with the Bolts before, why's this one bothering you so much?" she asked in a hushed voice.

I shook my head. "H-huh? Oh I dunno." I looked at the shadows flicker and dance in the candle's light. Of course I remembered Fluttershy tell me that it was her childhood crush. Yeah, I'm successful. But I'm no singer. I'm no smooth talking, seductive stallion. Why did it bother me? It's not like I've even talked about Fluttershy a year.

"Rainbow?" Cloudy's voice pierced my thoughts and she looked at me, waiting for an answer. I opened my mouth, unsure of what to say before Cloudy waved her hoof. "Eh you're tired. Get some sleep, okay?" she said, picking up the candlestick holder in her mouth before giving me one final wave before trotting off to her room.

I let out a sigh of relief as she want, giving her a small smile. Once I saw the light disappear I sat in the dark, watching the sun try desperately to peak over the clouds, letting everypony know that soon it would be time to wake up.

It's been a year! Why am I not over this pony yet? Why is it so easy to live my life without my other friends back at home, but not Fluttershy...? It can't be because I still...

I shook my head again, curling up in a ball on the floor as I watched a dim gray light fill the room. Surely I'm over her. You don't still hold feelings for somepony you haven't seen or heard from for over a year. You just don't.

So...why do I?
