A Gift from the Gods
One night a heavy thunderstorm woke the people of a small village in the woods.
A bluish light flashed as the lightning bolt struck just outside their village.
Everyone fled their houses and gazed at the glowing blue light in the distance.
The Elder gathered all the people in the little church.
He waited until everyone sat before he spoke. “I don’t want you to go near that thing. It’s evil,” he cried out.
The church door screeched open.
The villagers turned around enlarging their eyes, while watching three women set foot inside the church.
The woman dressed in red entered first, followed by one dressed in blue and another dressed in white.
The one in red paced down the short aisle to where the Elder stood.
“This is not evil. This is the work of the gods. Did you see what they gave you?” she asked.
He shook his head. “No, but something blue fell out of the sky and landed in the fields not far from here," he answered.
“It’s a gift from the gods. We have to give praise because it will bring us a great deal of joy.”
The woman in red turned away from the Elder and glanced over the villagers. “We saw this in a dream.”
She signaled to the other two women. “Did we not, Sisters?”
The women in blue, and in white nodded.
“Go back to your homes. We will go out there to worship.”
The three women left the church in the order they came in,
heading towards the glowing blue light.
