trade with of Sylain ^^k, I know the sky is junk (I used an expo marker and whiteout...I'm poor people XD) and the city lights are lame, but I hope you like it Tazza. I messed up Sylain to pieces...but I put him back together with superglue

LOL There is no need for that XD I love and get all giddy over all images of my characters. It makes me happy that people enjoy them because I almost never get the chance to draw them (especially now that I am working on a TOP SECRET -k not really- project that is taking up most of my artsy time).
What I have always done when it comes to drawing other characters is make them my own. It is the only way that I have been able to focus on developing my own style. I always seem to change a character to fit more into what I would draw. The main thing is to have confidence in what you work on and no matter what you do, whoever is on the receiving end of the image with highly appreciate it.
