This fanart about André playing the flute is inspired to the Berubara Kids, the comic strips by Ikeda, in which chibi André plays the flute.I drew him anime style.

How do you make this warm and soft colors? When I color with the Computer the colors are cold and dark and high-contrasted. >.<

Regarding the colors, this is my way in coloring, using the GIMP: I use normally the colors from the palette, or I pick colors from anime pics, thought I modify them, usually making them lighter. I have made my custom palette with the colors I use the most for hair,skin, etc... I set always the opacity of the color chosen between the 50- 70 depending on the result I want to get. The color is put on a single layer e. g. "skin" (then I will add another layer for the shades - made using a darker version of the base color) and I normally use the default brushes, the soft ones. With these brushes you'll get the soft shading you may like.
Ah, I disable the sensitivity pressure section.

That's a really nice drawing of Andre playing a flute.
I just remember a sktech from the 'Berubara Kids' where Oscar plays her violin and all the animals from the forest come to her and then Andre playes his flute and a snake comes to him. That was so funny. 
Amazing how good you drew his hands. I always have problems with drawing hands.
The background is wonderful too.
Btw. I draw with gimp as well, but I still don't manage to draw so accurate. Good work!

My tip for drawing hands is finding a model for the pose. I am not good at all at drawing anatomies, so if I don't find a model, I use my own hands... hem hem ^^. In this fanart's case I have studied some picture about flute players.
Regarding the use of the Gimp, I have read some tutorial. My favourite is not anymore on line, but I may send you a copy. I am trying a new technique right now but I can't manage very well...

Yeah, thank you for your tip. Using a model for drawing hands obviously works well.
Unfortunately I often draw so spontanious, that I'm much to lazy to look for a model. That's why I draw without any model so often and just use the picture that's in my head. But I will keep your tip in mind.
I use Gimp quite often and already learned a few things, but when you have a good tutorial I'll be happy if you could send a copy to me. I always appreciate help for drawing and using gimp.
I'm sure you will manage your new technique soon. Hopefully we will see a new Fanart with that new technique then?

Thanks for your comment! I was thinking about this fanart for so long and I was almost obsessed because I couldn't find the inspiration to draw it. I saw André playing the flute in one of the new strips by Ikeda, where the characters are drawn chibi style and since then I kept thinking about drawing a fanart... and this for almost a year! Finally I managed to do it!
