I feel like I too often just draw a ref for a character give a vague description of a the world or situation they're in and just... leave it for all eternity.
I'm not about to stop now.
ANYWAY, Nyger. In this world, the gods are frankly control freaks, so they requested a vessel to inhabit so they could be more in control of leading their creations and take care of things. While it is something that can be temporary, them inhabiting someone for just a few years then moving on, it does require the host to be "purified", or basically be in good health and with proper training in the prayer rituals and stuff. If they are not rightly purified enough, they just die upon the god entering them. To top it off, when a god inhabits someone, the person is relegated to the very back of everything. They can no longer access any of their senses, they cant control their body or actions at all, its full and complete sensory deprivation. All these things combined result in no one wanting to be the host, so they fob it off on some poor soul to suffer for the rest of their existence. Makes that prolonged life they get more of a hell than anything.
Anyway, Nyger was prepared and trained since he was rather young, only eight or nine, and while he acted more complicit when he got older, he had his own ways of rebellion. When the time came for the god to inhabit him, Nyger did something unheard of before, and he ended up with the gods powers and still in control of himself.
Long story short he went Kratos on everyone and has been a thorn in the pantheons side ever since.
Im unsure about his motives at the moment but ah i'll hopefully figure it out.
