Description According to the appendices of LotR, Legolas and Gimli just hang out for like 200 years wandering Middle-Earth and having adventures before catching the last boat out of Mithlond. Pretty dope.

Not only that, but Gimli settles the caves behind Helm's Deep too! Which is pretty rad too imho.

Yeah, I was sorry they cut that from the films. He's a boss.

Hanging out for 200 years? That sounds so boring. Anyway, god pic! ^_^

Thanks! Yeah, 200 years sounds like a long time, but if it was 200 years adventuring around Middle Earth, I could be down with that.

But all that sleeping outdoors... Don't they freeze?

Oh well then... Forgot that Legolas is an elf, he isn't bothered by cold, and Gimli is covered in armour and all that... Silly me ^_^

Maybe two of my favorite characters in all of fiction. I like your interpretations of Tolkien's world. Like others here mentioned so many artist just try and duplicate what they see in the Jackson films. One of the things about Tolkien is he left so much to be filled by one's imagination you seem to be up to the task.

Thanks! I agree completely with your point about Tolkien's world - it provides some of the absolute best inspiration for all kinds of artists.

Thank you for drawing your own interpretations of them, I get so tired of seeing the movie versions of those two. I love this picture, everything about it, complete with the crow on the tree XD They probably had some crazy awesome adventures <3

I agree completely! I bet they had tons of crazy awesome adventures out in the wilds of Middle Earth! And thanks for the praise. I love the visuals on all the movie characters like everyone else, but I also love to imagine for myself what all the stuff in the books would look like and see what other people come up with as well

I always thought it was cool how they just had their rad adventures as bffs for a while before sailing off. Great work!

I feel exactly the same way about their rad bff adventures. That's one of the many things I love so much about Tolkien's work: there are so many unexplored edges to his narrative, beyond which presumably lie even more awesomeness.
Thanks for the praise!

Indeed. Those unexplored corners of Middle Earth are part of what makes me love the story so much. And no problem!

Thanks.
One of the things I like about LotR is that after the adventure is over you definitely get the sense that most of the characters get a chance to lead good, full lives. I was trying to capture a moment of that here.
