Last storyboard assignment before the final one!This one had to be an adaptation of a text. I chose a small excerpt from Boris Vian's L'ecume des jours (Froth on the Daydream, which is the weirdest translation ever), a surrealist book about love, sickness and philosophy---it's full of great imagery, if you like creative writing you should definitely pick it up, it's one of my favourite books.
I quickly translated the dialogues for you guys, the original one's are in French. The original one also has red on their cheeks... it's better in real.
I like it. It's not my best storyboard so far, but I did it rather quickly and I'm proud of how it turned out. The first panel on page 9 really cracks me up.

It's actually old storyboard sheets I bought at my OLD school. XD~ They're 11"x17", the format is really nice to work on. But they can't be found anywhere else, unfortunately. There's probably some interesting storyboard material sold online though, like here [link] or here [link]

It's a surreal book---it's just that strange and beautiful the whole thing through.

Do you know where I could get this book you got the story from, I was recently commissioned to do an image for a short fairy tale which was originally in German and am now on a hunt to find as many whimsical stories as possible.

I don't know how hard it is to find Boris Vian books in English, 'cause he's fairly known in French at least (he was.... he's dead now)... there's multiple translations too, it might not actually be called Froth on the Daydream. Large bookstores should have it...
