Shading! It's just gorgeous! I rather like the unfinished look really, gives me the feeling that he just upped and left the person trying to draw him in the middle of the sketch. I'm not sure that he's one to sit around for a candid sketch.
I like his hair and his clothes reminds me of a street waif scrounging about for stuff. I suppose it's his eyes and that hard-bitten expression on his face that conveys some of the things he's seen and perhaps done in order to survive. He seems relaxed here though I wouldn't doubt that he could be violent!
