Description The White-Headed Vulture (Trigonoceps occipitalis) is an Old World vulture endemic to Africa. It has a pink beak and a white crest, and the featherless areas on its head are pale. It has dark brown upper parts and black tail feathers. White-headed Vulture lives in dry regions, in open areas such as plains, even desert. It is found in open savannahs and thorn bush.

Diet: White-headed Vulture feeds mainly on carrion, but it also consumes freshly killed prey such as flamingos, small mammals and lizards. They also eat stranded fish, termites and locusts when they find them.

Social: Often seen alone or in pairs, perched in trees or near carrion on the ground.

Size: 28 to 33 inches in length, wingspan are 81 to 91 inches. Males weigh 8.8 pounds./ Females weigh 10 pounds.
