Effective Friday, January 10, 2020, I am happy to say I have been naturalized as an American citizen

At long last for a place I consider my home in the USA. Where I grew up for the most part until turning 18, yet born and lived in Canada the first two years of my life. A country I would return to after high school, more specifically 15 years in Montreal where I enjoyed a highly spirited pace of life. Perfect during my college years in a city I would call party central with a great blend of French & English cultures.

Since then I have mellowed down, as one might expect with age... then met with a devastating loss after my father passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2010. He had still been residing in the Washington DC area, and upon realizing he was on borrowed time from the cancer diagnosis, he made me promise to care for my mother (his wife) who supported him to the very end. Without explicitly telling me I should move back down, for all I know he simply wanted me to travel from Montreal whenever possible to share some quality time with my mother.

Something I took to heart when I still had an open Green Card application for possible immigration into the USA. A very long process for all the required forms, medical appointments and background checks, but I eventually made it through as a "resident alien", and 5+ years later as an American citizen.

A HUGE sense of relief that's only starting to sink in, coming around full circle in a place where I grew up and ultimately honoring my father's promise for being closer to my mother. In turn I made my mother swear an oath to live at least until 100, and holding her to that!

Meanwhile, I have personally met some great people with wonderful talents along the way. Including some here from deviantART like Jen , her husband Ryan , and Brin Plus a whole lot of support from deviants worldwide, cheers and thank you very much!
