I hated this guy even I was a kid and a pre-teen watching some of the episodes that this fat idiot appeared in. Tom deserves better than this. If I was in there, I would've stopped him from attacking Tom, fight him, and even scold him for having poor and terrible skills in taking care of pets. The next thing I would do is to have him arrested for assault, battery, use of weapons, and animal cruelty/abuse. That fat fool needs to be replaced by a kinder, nicer, smarter, and highly well dedicated owner that likes and cares about Tom.

Yeah~ I never liked this guy. Mammy Two Shoes is right just behind em as she's clearly not keeping Tom around for affection and more as labor/mouse deterrent. Yeah~, these toons are classics, but not for cat lovers.

The only anger I ever felt was at Gene Deitch, the director who made Tom & Jerry at about 5% of the level of H&B.Β All of his Tom & Jerry cartoons are unwatchable.

Until THIS EXACT MOMENT I did not know that guy had a name.Β "Clint Clobber."Β I guess I must thank you for that piece of cartoon trivia.
However, the Deitch cartoons for Tom & Jerry were the awakening for me, as a child, to the fact that ARTISTS made cartoons.Β I remember asking myself, "Why are these cartoons so terrible?"Β and asking the other residents in my household why they were so different, and my older sister (who was quite a decent artist herself), explained to me about how cartoons were made.Β I could explain things to her now, but that doesn't change the fact that she opened my mind to the fact that a director can powerfully affect what happens to the characters in a story, despite the script.
