First off, I love this work.

Second, I wanted to know if I could use this as part of the artwork on a tshirt I am making for a friend. Single tshirt, nothing mass produced.

Here is the tshirt layout (you pic is on the back).

Thanks!

I'm still waiting to see sketches of his deaf brother Nohear and his other brother, the blind proboscis monkey Nosee.

Was that reaching a bit too much?

Sorry it took me forever and a day to answer this question. I haven't been back to Deviant Art for a while. lol

I'm really glad you liked the inks. Generally, I use a #3 and #2 Winsor Newton finest sable. When I did this piece, I'd say about 90% was done with the #2. I also used a frech curve and a Micron pen (.05 and .005) for doing some of the sword. I try to use mechanical tools for mechanical objects and organic tools for organic objects. However, as long as the piece looks good in the end, who really cares how you get your effects. ^__^

Thanks again, and sorry for the very late reply.
